Misaligned or faulty safety sensors will stop your door from closing properly. We realign, clean, or replace them to restore safe operation.
The two small photo-eye sensors near the bottom of your tracks exist to stop the door from closing on a person, pet, or object in its path, and even a slight bump can knock them out of alignment. When that happens, the door may refuse to close, reverse unexpectedly, or blink an error light instead of operating normally. Our garage door sensor repair and replacement service in Capitol Heights, MD realigns, cleans, or replaces these sensors so your door closes reliably and safely again.
Checking sensor alignment on both sides of the track
Cleaning lenses that may be blocking the signal
Testing the wiring for damage or loose connections
Replacing a sensor unit if it has failed internally
Confirming the door closes fully and safely on a normal cycle
Every job on garage door sensor repair & replacement starts with a clear diagnosis and an honest conversation about cost before any work begins. No guesswork, no vague estimates.
Call 1 (833) 652-7571This is almost always a sensor issue rather than an actual obstruction. Sensors can be knocked slightly out of alignment by a bump, dirt on the lens, or a loose wire, and even a small misalignment is enough to stop the door from closing.
We do not recommend this. The sensors exist specifically to prevent the door from closing on a person, pet, or object, and disabling them removes that protection entirely.
Avoid anything bumping into the sensor brackets near the floor, keep the lenses free of dust and cobwebs, and have alignment checked during routine maintenance visits.
